BILLEDER INTERIØR - Norman Foster’s elephant house elevates Copenhagen Zoo to the first division of the architectural world. English Foster has a whole string of prestigious projects to his name, including conversions of the Reichstag parliament building in Berlin and the British Museum in London. Actually, it was a visit to the latter that started zoo manager Lars Lunding Andersen thinking about Foster, and with the artist Per Arnoldi as intermediary, the star architect was successfully brought on board the project in 2001. The environs of the elephant house will be executed by the Danish landscape architect Stig L. Andersson.
